Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

It seems that once we have decided to follow Jesus, everything ought to be
settled.
Of course on one hand, it can certainly be true. I decided to follow Him the instant I
knew He was real, and I have never wanted anything else. But, oh my goodness!
What a struggle the flesh has with the issue!
Everything that will come to an end is against us. All that will prevail is for us. The
world will burn, the flesh will die, and the devil will be cast into outer darkness. And
the ungodly trio work for all of time to prevent the sacred task before us - the task of
submission.
The beautiful truth is, He has already defeated the enemy, He has taken away the
world's ability to harm us, and the flesh is condemned to die.
The difficulty is in the thought life.
The resistance happens in the thought life.
The patterns are established in the thought life.
Determinations are made in the thought life.
The enemy's darts are extinguished in the thought life.
But it all begins in prayer. Prayer is where and when we decide to follow Jesus,
and if this decision is not made in prayer, it is not made.
Are you a Soldier of the Cross? I trust you are. If so, do not be surprised that
the battle rages. Do not be obcessed by it, but focus on Jesus.
     Trust Him.
     Speak to Him.
     Follow him.
The song is right - there is no turning back!
