"Come thou, Almighty King. . ."
Countless Christians have sung these famous words. Yet, what a stunning invitation.
Isn't it incredible that He who named the stars and created all things, waits for an invitation?
He initiated by coming as a babe and dying for us. We respond by accepting the gift of salvation be grace through the Blood.
But to receive Him as King is another matter. He who is the King of Glory wants to be a very real ruler in our lives - not for His sake, but for ours. And that takes place in prayer, by specific request.
He who knocks on the door of the heart does not pull out His own key, but rather He waits for the believer to open the door, inviting Him in.
What does it mean to sup together with the Lord Jesus? No one who has experienced it would be able to put it completely into words. But those who have invited the Lord in fully know He has a unique response to invitation and there is no experience like it.
Invited to be King, He will rule. Those who have never tasted this freedom have not genuinely thrown the doors open with abandon.
     Step away from human logic.
     Step away from control.
     Step away from deliberate reasoning.
Yield to the Knock at the Door.
