Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

There is only one way to gain the things that are eternal - the Cross.
Once we have met the Lord and have tasted answered prayer, assurance of provision, begun a walk by faith and led others to Christ, it takes us by surprise when unfair and strange things happen.
We usually pray as though they ought not to happen and as though if God is going to show Himself on our behalf, He should stop the happening.
Of course, that is not always the case. The very thing that seems so cumbersome (usually a difficult mate) is the very thing that offers an opportunity to put aside all the things the flesh clamors for so heartily, and we must grasp the outstretched hand of the One who would teach us to walk on the water.
It is not an passe story - it is a contemporary necessity.
We must learn to accept that God has heard and He has acted. Then we look for Him.
If we do not do things in that order, we will not see Him.
If we do things in that order, we will see Him. It is that simple.
The Soldier who clings to prayer as the first and only possible resource will learn that the most precious answers to prayer come to those who hold on to His promises no matter what!
Remember, Lazarus was dead four days! It was all over and because the body had decayed, of course he was even beyond resurrection.
Yet, he came out when the Lord called him.
     Soldier, nothing has changed!
