Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Our missionary message must be lived before our children.
Something is dramatically wrong when Christian young people think they can go somewhere for six months and they have been missionaries.
We have glamorized pictures of huge crowds in Central and South American churches, and often even medical missionary work has been whitewashed. All the while, the truth is, the Lord has always and still is calling those who will commit to the death.
When we are in heaven, we will want to hear over, and over again, the stories of those who went alone or with just a few and spent years and years loving and living with those to whom they were sent
Here in our office, we are human and we get hungry, tired and discouraged. But the same One who issued the Great commission is the One who let us discover electricity, gravity and the compass.
He also put the stars in place.
He saved us - impossible, since we were so lost and not even interested.
He has not called us to do something that can't be done, but He has called us to plan our days and nights and time and money around getting the Gospel to a lost world.
During the family altar, sing missionary songs. Have the children memorize them - one of the most wonderful hymns ever written is "So Send I You".
We have been playing around and wasting resources.
Teach your children to give to missions and to pray for missionaries. Have them write to them - if you don't know where to start, write to me and I will help.
The fields were ripe unto harvest two thousand years ago, and they remain ripe today!
