As painful as
it is to admit, we have a tendency to be myopic! That's why we need the indwelling Holy Spirit to interpret the Word of God - otherwise we have no sight. The common human reaction to almost everything in life is just that - a reaction. The light of God's Word makes it possible to discern what the issues are and pray and act accordingly. Without that daily light, there can be no Soldier of the Cross. The one who so wanted to be a Soldier falls into a pedestrian way of living, and begins to evaluate rather than see. We were not created to be independent, and our sight never gets better in the dark. We always need Him, and we always need to be more dependent than we were yesterday. Reality is, He is coming soon. There's work to do, and we need Light to do it! |
