Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

We must decide ahead of time that whatever the Lord wants to do is acceptable to us.
That doesn't mean we need to approve specifics, it simply means that before the deepest hurts and losses are experienced, the Soldier of the Cross must learn to tell the Lord (and really mean it) that he trusts Him, and will yield to His wisdom.
That means that in the hottest of fires, that Soldier will display the attitude of a child who knows his Father is doing the right thing, even though he does not understand why.
We live in an era that demands reasons for everything. There are pressures to persuade us to "talk about" haunting sin, in order to find a "reason", so we can understand why we do things and have a measure of control.
Granted, some who are still caught in deep traps do need to go to Holy Spirit appointed and gifted counselors. But they must go to be turned around to see Jesus, not to see themselves and others in order to get a handle on the problem.
Is it true that we are "not our own, but were bought with a price?"
Isn't that what the Bible says?
When a believer tells the Lord outloud that He can do absolutely anything with his life, something happens. That Christian sees events differently. He hears insults via heavenly diagnosis. He begins to understand that only by pressing into submission can he be really free.
And if he doesn't tell the Lord, then he doesn't really want the Lord to wholly have him.
Because whatever you are asking the Lord for, it is the thing you really want.
You don't need to feel like offering your life in this way, but you do need to tell Him
     Because He said so!.
