stood in front of the bathroom mirror and reminded yourself (outloud)
what the Bible says about your situation? Probably not. Most people feel too foolish to do something like that, and unless you have done it, you can't imagine the encouragement it is. ". . .David encouraged himself in the Lord. . ." You have problems? What would you do if you had a bunch of men following you, and their wives had just been captured as slaves, and they all wanted to kill you - remember, you are their commander! Wouldn't you love to know what David did to encourage himself? Well, the Bible doesn't tell us. What I can tell you is that it is an affirmative act, and it takes more than a flashing thought about God being in control. Try it. Stand there and say the things that agree with God's Word. You will never be the same! |
