Daily Devotionals by Ardith Keef

Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done!

When the complaining stops, the believer who is willing to look up can see that he has a God who has lavishly blessed him.
I have heard the testimonies of Christians who have been quadriplegic, burned and badly scarred, endured the amputating of limbs, and lingered in painful death.
I've heard people speak who have seen their children killed and their wives abused.
I could make a longer list, but it isn't needed. The point is, all of them have been allowed to see the blessing in the trial.
We get through the trial by faith, and often, it feels like we are pulling ourselves through the sandy desert by our fingernails.
After the trial is over, the passing of the trauma is not usually because the initial episode is done, but because the believer has allowed the Lord to have the heart.
When someone looses a limb, the surgery is not the trauma. The trauma is living without the limb. Suddenly, that person is different and life has changed.
But those who are willing to rest on the Word and allow the Lord to use the hard thing - those are the soldiers who can count and count and count and count!
