Dear Friend,
My petunias are out on my office porch and they are still blooming. They must be pretty hearty, because we have had frost three times so far. In the thirty-four years I have been in Maine, I have never seen such a warm fall. I have worn a coat a few times, but could have made it without it. We are getting desperate for a good snowfall!
I have a tiny Christmas tree in the office window, and next to it are some figurines I got from the Smithsonian museum. There are a mom, a girl and a boy and a kitty, all decked out in very old clothing, carrying things like presents and goodies. The best part is that they are all singing! So many of my clients are heartbroken (family law) and I love to create a warm and healthily sweet atmosphere in the office. Right near where the client sits, I have a large jar of peppermint, a dish of Lindt dark chocolate truffles and a box of lanolin-filled Kleenex.
I thought I would be in Australia for a few days after Christmas, but it turns out I will be in Ukraine for a day and then Siberia for about 5 days. I will be holding a women's conference at each location.
I am still fighting the food battle. I have used a number of your suggestions. I had to give up coffee this week because of my voice. I am on green tea which tastes icky to me, but is definitely helping.
