I have been to the end of the world and back! I thought Siberia was far, but this week I was in court in both Bangor and Dover-Foxcroft Maine. Wow! I spent the night in the Bangor Sheraton and the hotel was evacuated. I think it was colder than Siberia. Then the next day I drove to the second location and the courthouse was a white farmhouse. The court room was a converted living room and it was wonderful. The judge was a common sense, practical and knowledgeable fellow and I wanted to stay forever.

I am back and working like mad. I have not lost any more weight, but am still being good and going to the gym. I did backslide in Bangor and had a lobster, dripping with butter. But no potato and no dessert.

We haven't had any more significant snow here, but one can always hope. All the good storms seem to pass us by. When the ground thaws this spring I have plans to put in some more trees and plants and maybe even a window box or two.

I am off to school. This semester I am teaching advanced solfege (do, re, mi, etc) and a pedagogy course. I have some bassoon students and believe it or not, we have a bassoon ensemble of 6 bassoons that play together and sound wonderful.

I think they should all perform wearing this "Lion Sun" shirt - it is one of the best, and everyone you know needs one for Valentines day:
