ABOUT US

Operating since 1988

In the early 1980's, a small church now known as the Anchor Missionary Fellowship began to see the need to encourage missionaries in the area of private devotions. Missionaries frequented the small assembly because of quarters made available to them in a building called the Isaac house, and because of the church-sponsored evangelistic luncheons that featured missionary speakers. Over subsequent years, a great deal of travel took place to explore the spiritual climate of various countries, and International Missionary Service began its prayerful endeavor to provide encouragement and supplies to many servants around the world. International Missionary Service has been locating and filling the needs of God's sent ones in many countries.

IMS currently goes to and provides services in Africa, the former Soviet Union and South America. The missionaries or missions sought out are those who have as a priority the heralding of the Gospel and also take a responsibility to meet the physical needs of the nationals.
IMS has targeted medical missionaries and missionary aviators in particular, and ships equipment otherwise unavailable, and in addition, sends individuals to hand-carry medicines and other supplies that are extremely difficult to to find in third-world countries.
Pastors and evangelists are supported and prayed for as well, the plight of orphans in Siberia has become a recent project.
The missionaries that are receiving services from IMS are of many denominations. IMS serves a Baptist Mission, Medical facilities of HCJB World Radio, missionaries in SIM (Society of International Missionaries), primarily in Africa, , Slavic Gospel Association, Red Sea Team International and some who are independent missionaries.
The staff at IMS considers the first priority to be prayer and holds memorization of God's Word to be essential.
